This type of specialist is a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst (formerly known as Certified Divorce Planner (TM) or CDFA (formerly known as CDP) has taken intensive training and exams given by The Institute for Divorce Financial Analysts (formerly known as ICDP). They know specific tax laws that apply to divorce and have background knowledge of the legal issues in divorce. CDFA's must continue to meet the IDFA renewal standards in order to continue to use the CDFA designation. Many of our members are trained in the Collaborative Divorce process. They include Collaborative Divorce Financial Professionals and Collaborative Divorce Family Specialists/Coaches. DFPN was the first organization to partner with The Collaborative Divorce Team Training in New York in 2005 to deliver CE credits to all financial professionals who hold the CFP credential. How You Benefit The Divorce Financial Planning Network is a resource group of professionals serving the divorce community in the State of New York. The Network is comprised of Certified Divorce Financial Analysts, Matrimonial Attorneys, Mediators, Certified Financial Planners, CPAs, Forensic Accountants, Business Valuators, Therapists and Coaches, and Mortgage Brokers. Members must abide by the Code of Ethics and Professional Responsibility adopted by the Divorce Financial Planning Network.
